About Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals

Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals in Barbados is a family-owned and operated company that offers Jeeps, Mini Mokes, vans and air-conditioned sedans for short and long-term rental. Our friendly staff will meet customers at the airport or deliver the vehicles to any local address at no additional cost. Our customers are also provided with detailed maps of the island and directions to their destination. 


What is Included

**Delivery**
  • Drive-A-Matic's Airport office is located on the left as you exit the Arrivals Hall. Clients should make their way to our office where our Rental Agent will be pleased to assist in delivering your car. When meeting at airport, staff will be outside the customs area wearing a light blue shirt and dark blue pants. They will also have a sign with the clients name printed on it. Drive-A-Matic’s offices in Barbados are open from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. Rentals may be done at any time from the opening of business to 9:00 pm at night. For rentals later than 9:00pm please make a special request. Delivery is free of charge to guests’ hotel; special arrangements may be made for delivery at the airport. A Facility Fee of US$5.95 will be charged for all rentals at the airport in Barbados. For bookings with delivery to the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal prepayment is required.

    What is Not Included

    **Taxes (VAT)**
  • The rates do not include local tax of 17.5% on balance due

    **Driving Permit**
  • OBLIGATORY US$ 5.00/rental. A local permit is absolutely necessary, this can be issued by our representative. Please note that your original drivers' permit from your country of issue must be presented at the time of the rental.

    **Baby Seat**
  • US$ 5.75 (VAT INC) (Baby Seats are not placed in a Moke or Soft Top Jeep

    **Extra Driver**
  • Drive-A-Matic allows one (1) driver per vehicle, if a second or third driver is required then an additional driver charge is applied at given rate per day, per driver.

    General Terms

    **Insurance**
  • Insurance (CLICO General Insurance Co. Ltd.): - All vehicles are covered by insurance including US$15,000,000.00 liability for passengers and third party personal injury coverage of US$5,000,000.00 and property damage coverage of US$250,000. Optional Extra Protection is available and recommended as follows: If E.P. is declined, hirer accepts responsibility up to US$2,000 for loss, damage, or loss of the vehicle caused by accident, fire or theft, regardless of who is at fault. If E.P.. is accepted, responsibility for damages is reduced to US$125.00 providing the vehicle is operated in accordance with all conditions of our contract. Optional CDW US$10.00/day or $50.00/week If C.D.W. is declined, the hirer accepts full responsibility for all loss, damage, or loss of the vehicle caused by accident, fire or theft, regardless of who is at fault. If C.D.W is accepted, responsibility for damages is reduced to US$125.00 on all vehicles, except Premium SUV, where the deductible is $750.00 providing

    **Fuel**
  • We charge guest for gas in the vehicle at the time of rental. They return empty. Following are the minimum gas charges per group. These rates are all VAT inclusive and represent ½ tank petrol: Group A: $17.50 Group B & D: $25.00 Group E and over: $30.00
